Calm by design
No noisy feeds, no engagement loops, no streaks. The interface stays quiet so the harder conversations stay quieter too.
About
CareCalendar exists to reduce friction between the adults raising kids — separated, blended, multi-generational, or simply busy. The schedule, the messages, the receipts and the records, all in one calm place that everyone can read.
Why we built CareCalendar
We saw families managing the important moments — pickups, medications, receipts, school notes — across texts, screenshots, three different calendars and a shoebox of paperwork. Not because anyone was disorganised. Because that's the actual shape of raising kids across more than one household.
The cost shows up later in the day. The half-remembered agreement. The receipt that's definitely on someone's phone. The message you can't find when you need it. The conversation that gets re-litigated because nobody has the same picture of what was actually said.
CareCalendar was built for the everyday first. The week ahead, the handovers, the soccer pickup, the school excursion form. Quiet shared infrastructure for the people who actually do the lifts, the laundry and the lunch boxes.
And when the harder moments come — and in many families they do — the record is already there. Append-only messages. An audit log. Scoped access for the mediator or solicitor. Exports that include the family, the range, the timestamp and a clear disclaimer. Same template, every time.
Most weeks aren't about court. They're about hand-offs, homework and who has the EpiPen. CareCalendar is designed for that.
Core principles
They aren't slogans. They show up in the product — sometimes as something we built, sometimes as something we deliberately didn't.
No noisy feeds, no engagement loops, no streaks. The interface stays quiet so the harder conversations stay quieter too.
Every adult on the team — parent, stepparent, grandparent, carer — looks at the same week. No screenshots, no relay messages.
Messages are append-only. Expenses keep their receipts. Documents are versioned. If you ever need the record, it's already there.
Safety Mode hides addresses and contacts. Professionals can be invited read-only with scoped access and an expiry. Exports carry context.
One connected system
Each module is good on its own. The point is what they do together: one shared workspace where the everyday and the record are the same thing.
Colour-coded by assigned adult. Review-based sync to Google and Microsoft.
Timestamped, append-only, with read receipts on both sides.
Splits honour your percentage. CSV or PDF for tax or mediation.
Tagged and findable when a carer or grandparent needs them.
iOS · Android · Web — same workspace, same record, every device.
Trust & safety
The design defaults assume the people using this product will sometimes be in stressful, contested or simply exhausted moments. We try to make the safe choice the easy one.
Visibility is per-record. Files are served via short-lived signed links — no public URLs, ever.
Edits keep a trail. The audit log captures who did what, with a hash-chain note on Premium exports.
Per-scope toggles, expiry dates, instant revoke. No app install required on their end.
On by your choice — applied to shared views and PDF exports without losing the data from your own records.
Public holidays, school terms and parenting-plan sections aligned to local guidance. Exports are records, not legal advice.
Export everything before you go. Request deletion from Account & Privacy — a quiet workflow, not a dark pattern.
It reduced the amount of back-and-forth almost immediately. Knowing everything was on the record meant we could actually let small things stay small.
Free to start. No credit card. Bring everyone raising your kids onto the same week — and keep the record for the moments that need it.
